Project Blog for Severe Weather Project 1 - 8 - 15

What I Did to do the Project and the actual Project

The project was called Severe Weather Project. But the project was different for me then most of the other students because I was on an Independent Study so I had to do it on paper not on computer. The thing I had to do was choose two severe weather patterns ( I chose tornadoes and floods). The thing you had to do with the severe weather patterns was write a description, geographic occurrence, formation conditions, safety and preparation, possible damage, and other interesting info for the severe weather patterns.

The Start of the Project Blog

What I learned from doing this project is that floods are very dangerous because I used to think that they weren't that dangerous. Another thing I learned is the way you can see tornadoes, which is the collected dust in the tornado. One other thing I learned was that in the U.S.A. floods kill more people each year then tornadoes, hurricanes, or lightning. I also learned what a bomb shelter is which is basically a whole in the ground ( preferably in your house - basement ) with a place to go to the bathroom, a bed, a lot of canned food, and a lot of water. The last thing I learned is that scientists truly don't know how tornadoes are formed.

The things I knew before doing this project was how to be safe in a tornado which is go in a bathtub and if you can put pillows over you. The reason you go in a bathtub is bathtubs are heavy so it will be harder for the tornado to lift you up and the bathtub together and the reason you put pillows over you is so glass doesn't go on you. Another thing I knew is floods can trap and kill you which is called a death trap but I didn't know that it was called that. The last thing I knew is in tornadoes you want to stay underground        ( for example in a basement ) during a tornado. The reason you do that is so the tornado can't lift you up in the tornado but if the hole that you are staying in doesn't have a roof then then it will be easier for the tornado to get to you.
The way I feel about this piece of work is I did really well but I could still improve on it somehow. The part I particularly liked about my project was that I believe I did really well on the safety and preparation part of the project. I believe I did really well on safety and preparation was that I added a lot of very important facts in that part of the project. The one thing I disliked was that I believe I had to much quotes in the project. I dislike that because I feel that the quotes take up all my writing. The thing that I enjoyed about this project was that I learned a lot of interesting facts doing this project so know I can tell people about what I learned.
The things I would change if I had the chance to do so is to not have as much quotes in my project and to be more specific for formation conditions and description. The reason I wouldn't have so much quotes is I believe it takes up my writing and the project is supposed to be written by me not other people. The reason I would be more specific for formation conditions and description is because I feel I just wrote down a fact and then just let it there by it's self.
         Extra
So in conclusion I believe that I did good on my severe weather project.
