8/25/15 weekly blog

School is hard especially with all the stuff we have to sign up on in science. But some parts of it are fun like today I learned how to blog and this is my first ever blog in my life. I also learned how to use websites properly and how to use all the school websites. Another thing I learned what you should if something bad happens,I learned that in science. I also learned how to be responsible,respectful,and safe in a classroom in science.

Summary:        This week in science we learned about biogeochemical cycles, more specifically, I learned about the biogeochemical cycle known as the Sulfur Cycle. What I now know about the Sulfur Cycle because of what I learned this week through research is each part in the sulfur cycle. I also now know that their are a lot of different parts in the sulfur, but my focus was trying to make this complicated cycle very simple and easy to understand. Dmitri Mendeleev and The Periodic Table of Elements

Link To Image Website Summary:      This week in science we learned about Dmitri Mendeleev (the creator of the periodic table) and the periodic table. We learned that one of the biggest reasons Dmitri Mendeleev made the periodic table was because he wanted to put it into a science textbook and by making it into a table it would fit into the textbook. We learned that for periodic table instead of saying row and column we say period(for row) and family (for column). We also learned that about a pattern that the periodic table has which is that with each period there is one more energy level for electrons. Also that elements in the same family have similar chemical reactions. We also learned about what the periodic table consists of and the families within it.
