Why I Returned to AdVENTURE 8/21/17


      I returned to Adventure because Adventure prepares you for the future. Adventure has STEM and STEM is the future of the world and by having a background of STEM I will most likely be successful in life. I also returned to Adventure because many of my friends go to Adventure and I didn't want to leave them. Adventure is like a community and I really don't want to leave it.I also wanted to stay at Adventure for track and cross country because I like those sports and I really like the coaches for those sports and the program itself. Another reason I returned was because I really like the system here, it is a fun environment that really wants kids to learn and grow.  One other reason I decided to stay is because at other schools you get new teachers every year but at Adventure you get to know the teachers better and have a better relationship. The last reason I stayed is because I really love the use of technology and how the we do our work. Most of our work is on computers and most schools don't have that and I love the fact that most of the stuff we do is in groups.

Friday and Monday we were writing down the definitions of (I believe) organelles that are part of the urinary and digestive system. Here are some examples of some of the organs my class had to write down the definitions for, the esophagus, the pancreas, the liver, the small intestine, and the large intestine. One thing that I forgot to add is that there was one other paper that had the definitions down for my class because I did not want anybody thinking that my teacher would make us write the definitions on our own out of the blue. The way we knew the definitions was because on Thursday or Friday I forgot which day any ways my teacher showed what every organ that we had to write the definition for what each organ did in order. But the fun part was she assigned every single person in my science class an organ to make it fun. What also helped was that Ms. J went over the answers with my science class also she allowed us to switch our answers if we got them wrong that especially helped

Chemistry Mastery Quest 2 Regrade

The Question I got Wrong Was: Reactions that involve burning are classified as I originally answered decomposition, the correct answer was actually exothermic. I realize now that exothermic is the better answer and was the correct answer. This is because exothermic reactions release heat causing its environment to get warmer. This creates a rise in the temperature which creates the burn. This means that exothermic reactions involve burning. This is why the correct answer was better than my original answer and is the best answer.

Plate Tectonics 3/10/18

Summary:        This week in science we learned about Plate Tectonics. Plates have been on Earth for thousands of years and are consistently moving (very slowly). Through this the Earth can recycle our land, by destroying the old land, and creating new land. These plates are made of rock and are in the lithosphere layer of the Earth. Another thing I know is that there are 3 different type of plate boundaries. Those three types of plate boundaries are convergent boundaries, divergent boundaries, and transform boundaries. Convergent boundaries are when two plates collide and their are two different types of convergent boundaries. The two types of convergent boundaries are collisional boundaries and subduction zones.
